Steven A. Long, CMP, CDS
Steven Long joined ConferenceDirect in 2005 and has over 17 years experience in the hospitality and meetings industry. He started his career attending Texas A&M University earning a BS degree in Tourism Resources Management. Steven worked as Director of Sales and Marketing, and General Manager for hotel brands such as Hilton and Wyndham.
Steven is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) through the Convention Industry Council and maintains this distinction through continued education and involvement in the development of the latest best practices for the meetings industry. His well rounded education in hotel sales and operations gives him insight into the negotiations process with hotels.
Steven specializes in meetings for High Technology, User Events, and Public Safety. He is also very active with development and implementation of Strategic Meeting Management Programs for leading companies across the globe.
He is also very involved in volunteer activities for his community and serves as a Basic Certified Fire Fighter. In addition, Steven works during disasters, and drills in Emergency Management and Communications. He also serves on the Board of Directors for local community organizations. Steven currently resides just outside of Austin, Texas with his wife and two children.
